Emergency Response Group

For many years we had an emergency list of people who could provide casseroles and other food for people in need.  Many dropped off the list as the emergencies became few.

With the growth of Civil Emergencies, like bombings, bush fires, etc, there is a need for an Emergency Response Group to supplement the Emergency Services available.  As a parish we have an opportunity to participate in such a response:

• Training of Priests as Community Chaplains (completed)
• Training of lay members to respond in an emergency
• Provision of Church facilities for an Emergency
• Ongoing support after an Emergency

In March 2007 we will be inviting participation in such a programme.
